A Church Gets Noticed In A Good Way

Yeah, it seems like we write about LifeChurch.tv in every issue of COLLIDE. And then there are all the blog posts, online articles, and UpFront links we dedicate to LC in between each issue of COLLIDE. But we’re a media/technology/church magazine, so what would you expect? I think it’s really cool, however, when the “secular” tech press takes note of LifeChurch.tv’s online efforts and shenanigans.

Last week, the YouVersion iPhone Bible App got a great review on AppCraver. This week, LifeChurch.tv is spotlighted in Part 1 of ReadWriteWeb’s Religion and Web Technology series. Overall, RWW seems to be impressed with LifeChurch.tv’s strategic leveraging of available web technology to spread the message, which is cool. Even cooler, RWW boasts 235,000 readers (as reported by Feedburner). Um, wow.

In a world where churches tend to stand out for controversial signs and billboards, sex and money scandals, and cheesy songs on YouTube, it’s nice to see LifeChurch.tv be recognized for their innovative approach to the Interwebnets. Keep it up, guys.

I am always excited to see churches be innovative. I have been writing to the editors of Fast Company (a business innovation mag) that they should cover megachurches and their game-changing creativity. FC hasn’t done it yet, but I am excited to hear that real media is recognizing the work of an innovative church like lifechurch.tv.

Although I do not contribute to our online presence much, I really enjoy being a part of a church that has a global impact and is actually being ecumenical with what God has given us. Thanks for the love Scott!
