A BASIC Contest (Update: Contest Over!)

| By Scott McClellan | Found in Design | 103 Comments

What happens when pastor and author Francis Chan teams up with the talented artists behind the NOOMA series? BASIC happens. If you haven’t heard about BASIC yet, be sure to check out that official link. Now, on with the contest.

I’ve got three copies of the first installment in the BASIC DVD series, Fear God, to give away. To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment on this post by 12pm CST on Friday, August 20. Any ol’ comment will do, but if you want to share your favorite Francis Chan book, NOOMA video, or David C. Cook book, you’re welcome to do so. I’ll pick three commenters at random on Friday afternoon and I’ll send each of them a DVD.

Go ahead and enter — what have you got to lose?

UPDATE: The contest is now over and the winners have been chosen. Thanks to everyone who entered!

I've read all of the Francis Chan books and couldn't get enough of the Cornerstone Podcast. The NOOMA videos changed hearts at our high school youth group and "Breathe" inspired a tattoo I got with the YHVH Hebrew letters. Praise God for this new series!

  • Jon

  • http://ryanspilhaus.com Ryan

I love Francis Chan…Crazy Love is amazing. Also, I love Nooma's "Whirlwind" video (about Job).

  • http://www.rossandtaya.com ross

What a great door prize! I love the filming style of Nooma- content is still king, but I think they enhance the message without distracting the viewer. I've been challenged by Crazy Love & Forgotten God, as well as Francis' messages at Cornerstone, but I've probably been most challenged by his bold faith & example.

  • http://greenhornet79.wordpress.com Jeremy Green

I’ve listened to some of his stuff before and really enjoyed it. This should be good…

  • Justin Fluhr

I love free stuff. It's shameless, but what do I have to lose.

  • Melinda

    I'd love a copy.

Um, I used to go to Francis Chan's church, when I was in Los Angeles for YWAM.
Thought he was a nice guy who talked about love a lot. Was not surprised when he wrote a book about it.

    Would love the series. :)

  • http://praisebeaumont.com Karen Worthington

Dear Scott… I just want you to know that your homemade V-neck shirt has made it down to Beaumont, TX. Our worship leader apparently took note of that when we were sharing our experience at the Echo Conference. And it is pretty amazing. Thanks.. Have a lovely day!

  • Christopher

Only Francis Chan I've read so far is Crazy Love, so I guess it wins by defaults. This series looks great.

  • navets

i want in! The DVD would be a great addition to my ministry library!

  • olenbrady

The preview of this looks SICK, any extremely well-done product that advances the gospel needs to be in the hands of every church leader.

I am a youth intern at a church, and am in the process of building a library of resources and this would be a great resource to have. I really enjoyed “Crazy Love” and have started “Forgotten God”.

I read both Crazy Love and Forgotten God, but I believe Forgotten God made me think a lot more. Especially how the church in Acts and the church today compares in its dealings with the Holy Spirit. Good stuff.

  • http://iChilly.com Chilly

    Pick me, pick me.

  • potatoj

I can't wait to see this video.

  • http://www.couldushoulduwouldu.com Matt

I have only seen the nooma videos with Rob Bell in them. I am not a fan of any of them. Mainly because Rob Bell seems to twist nearly everything that he teaches on. I do however Like Francis Chan. I have read Crazy Love and now have Forgotten God. ( I did read Velvet Elvis by Rob it was garbage) I am also intrigued by his willingness to live what he preaches and to live sold out to Christ. It would be intersting to contrast his video series and the doctrinal truths with the nooma’s that I have seen with Rob Bell in them. I struggle with those.

  • http://www.kretzu.com chris

i'm super excited to see these videos! hope i win!
