What Does a Church Media Director Really Do?

The Internet is chock full of memes, as we all know, and there’s a new one floating around called “What People Think I Do / What I Really Do.” Essentially, participants in the meme create a series of images that depict how others perceive the participant’s profession and contrast those images with one that depicts the participant’s view of his or her role. (If you’d like to find out more, Google it. Just know that I can’t vouch for what you might find.)

I tell you all this because an Echo Hub reader named Aaron Baxter created a ”What People Think I Do / What I Really Do” for his job as a church media director. I got a good chuckle out of it, and I thought you might too:

Nicely done, Aaron!

If there are other church roles that need to be interpreted through this meme, please have it. I’d love to see them. Now if you’ll excuse, I’m going to search for more pictures of puppies wearing glasses.

Haha, thanks Scott. Didn’t think I would find anyone who could understand when I made it.

And now Matt Stanley, a long time Friend of Echo, offers his take on what a church technical director actually does …

Here’s one I made a few weeks ago about being a church intern. True story, I always have my hands full of seemingly random unrelated bits of stuff.
